To go off my previous post-
I have recently been struggling with the decision of whether or not to continue with college. But I’ve recently realized that I have to make this decision on my own. I can’t make this choice based on what will make other people happy but on what will make MYSELF happy. I just find it a little crazy that society expects 18 year old children (yes, children) to decide what they want to do with the rest of their life. I’d much rather be working a real job or being able to travel, gaining life experience. Really don’t think I’ll be returning to school for my junior year, and the second half of my sophomore year will be a stretch…
So I just realized something recently. I need to start being more true to myself. I’m the type of person who will agree with what other people are saying, go with the crowd. And I hate myself for that. No, you know what, I don’t necessarily agree with what you’re saying. I have my own opinion. But I can respect that that is your belief. And I don’t care what other people think of me for what my beliefs, opinions, likes or dislikes are. Because that is what makes me, me. Yes, Green Day is my favorite band. But I also like Aerosmith, Frank Sinatra, and yes, even Taylor Swift. I love music, all different types. I love reading, some of my favorite books are Harry Potter and authors such as Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe, but guess what? Sometimes I enjoy reading what I call “escapism” books like the Twilight Saga. Who doesn’t like some trashy reading every now and then? I also find issue in prescribing to a specific style of fashion. I wear what I like and what looks good on me, and who gives a damn if it fits into a box society wants to put me in. So in conclusion, in the future I’m going to be Katrina, and only Katrina, no matter what other people may think
